Extra Extra Acupuncture Works!

Well of course it works! But, it’s always nice to see new research.  I’ve studied this medicine for years and I see it work every day. If I wasn’t getting results, I wouldn’t be doing this.   Yet, so many people in this country want scientific proof of everything.  Acupuncture is a hard medicine to study.  Sham acupuncture is still acupuncture and so can give a certain amount of response to the body.  Yet, in this medicine we specifically treat meridians and acupoints.  Many years ago a North Korean scientist found meridian pathways and acupoints in a western scientific way.  He had a bit of trouble verifying his research to his colleagues with limited scientific evidence.  Since then, South Korean scientists have been working on identifying meridians and acupoints.  They have physically found them using a staining dye in mice and rabbits.  It’s fascinating to see how they discovered it and in the video below you will see the microscope views of those physical meridians and acupoints.

Here are a few of the photos of the meridians that were captured and an animation of how they believe stimulation works. Cool stuff…

Definitely worth a look see!  Here is your link to the Korean Research video.  (caveat…it is subtitled, but the pictures and research are fascinating).

Feel free to share with your scientific minded friends!

Plus, bonus, here are a few new Acupunctures Studies for you to peruse and share…

Acupunture Benefits Alzheimers…I would personally prefer to combine Acupuncture with OptiMag Neuro, but bottom line, we know it helps.  (Click here for more on OptiMag Neuro)

Acupuncture Provides Perimenopause Relief… Acupuncture helps to regulate levels of serum estradiol, follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), and luteinizing hormone (LH). Additionally, they document the clinical success of acupuncture for the treatment of hot flashes.

Acupuncture is Anti-Inflammatory in Crohn’s Disease… Acupuncture improves CDAI  (Crohn’s Disease Activity Index) scores, quality of life, increases hemoglobin levels, and reduces CRP levels for Crohn’s disease patients.

Always remember acupuncture is a whole body medicine, don’t pigeon hole it to just being used for pain relief.  Acupuncture &/or Chinese herbal formulas work for many acute and chronic conditions that arise in the body. If you have specific questions, please don’t hesitate to call the office or leave a question in the comments below.
